About the Recipe

Are you in the mood for a hearty and flavorful meal that won't break the bank? Look no further than this Spaghetti Bolognese recipe!

Made with the budget-friendly tomato sauce as a base, this dish is also tasty & healthy (as long as you go easy enough on the spaghetti!) .

As it’s so easy to make, this Spaghetti Bolognese is a great meal for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • Pre-made Tomato sauce (tomatos, basil, garlic, chilli, peppers, tinned tomatoes)

  • Mince

  • Spaghetti

Preparation

Step 1

The evening before you plan on having the Spaghetti Bolognse - make some tomato sauce (see our recipe here) or defrost some if you've already got some at hand.

Step 2

Crack the egg into a bowl and whisk thoroughly using a fork.

Step 3

Mix the egg, the 500g mince beef (pork can be used as alternative) with a large handful of breadcrumbs. I sometimes use stuffing which we have in the freezer. Works just as well in my opinion.

You can also add in seasoning. Any season that goes with beef or steak can be used. A salt, garlic & pepper combination will work too.

Step 4

Place spaghetti into a pot of boiling water and cook at high heat. Follow the pack instructions for length of time.

Step 5

Cook the mince mixture until brown, turning every few minutes.

Step 6

Heat the tomato sauce at medium heat in a pan. After a few minutes add the mince and mix. Leave for a few more minutes. Remove and mix with drained spaghetti.
